HFS was founded in 1956, as St. Joseph’s Mission School.
The school made its mark in the community and in history in Sept 1963 when it became the first racially integrated elementary school in the state of Alabama. Today, the school still operates in the very same building as it did then. Pumpkin Blast serves as a fundraiser for Holy Family Regional School’s Restore the Mission committee which seeks to raise the necessary funds to provide an updated facility for the Holy Family Regional School Community. The students at Holy Family have a long history of service and outreach to our community. Pumpkin Blast not only provides an opportunity for some good, competitive fun, but in turn provides the community the chance to help the school realize its dreams of having a facility that matches the heart and dedication of its students and faculty.
